With a little bit of coaching, you could:

  • Feel supported in your mission to improve safety performance and culture.

  • Sort through the chaos, so you can get organized and efficient.

  • Reduce the stress and headaches by working smarter, not harder.

The truth is, being a safety professional is hard.

Tell me, is your to-do list longer than an offensive coordinator’s playbook and go something like:

  • Improve the safety culture (and get both managers and front-line employees to buy-in)

  • Update and rewrite who knows how many safety programs - because a few things have changed since 1992

  • Establish and implement a brand-new training program - because a PowerPoint presentation that people sleep through is not “effective training”

  • Learn how to build relationships of trust so you can establish yourself as the go-to safety expert that people actually like, know, and trust

  • Somehow find time to finish the admin paperwork, walk the floor, and attend meetings (you know, the ones that could have been just an email…)

In 2019, 5,333 workers did not go home to their families because of a fatal workplace injury.

Something has to change.

Your job as a safety professional is so incredibly important. Your goal is to make sure every worker goes home safely to their families every day. That’s a lot of pressure.

I designed Safety Playbook specifically to support you, the safety professional. I’ve been in the trenches, and with my field-tested strategies and 20/20 hindsight, I can help you navigate the best approach to improving your safety culture and programs.

90-minute 1:1 Intensive

These focused work sessions are great for diving deep and tackling a nagging issue. I’ll work with you to make progress in a key area, so you can mark it off your to-do list and get back to serving your employees and improving the safety culture.Choose how you use the time:

Option 1: Culture Review

I will evaluate 14 different areas of safety culture to determine key areas for improvement. I will create a customized recommendation report and together we will review the recommendations to see how I can support you in strategy implementation.

helps to evaluate current culture and identify where key improvements can be made

Option 2: Time Study

I will guide you through my seven-step process to evaluate, categorize, refine, and streamline your calendar so you can get back control of your day and make progress on the things that really matter. Think of this as boot camp for your calendar!

Helps with productivity, time management, and prioritization of tasks and projects

Option 3: Training Plan Review

Let's get your training program organized! We will review the who, what, when, and where of your training to make sure the right people are being trained effectively (in the right way) on the right topics and at the right frequencies.

Helps to ensure the right people are being effectively trained on the right topics at the right time

Option 4: Program Gap Assessment

It's important to be able to quickly and easily access your written safety programs and procedures. Let's implement a game plan that helps you tackle the organization, cleanup, and revision of your written documents.

helps to identify which documented programs are up-to-date, which need revision, and which may need to be created

  • Recorded Zoom call, so you can go back and reference the session and not worry about writing everything down.

  • Targeted tools and worksheets, so you can get organized without reinventing the wheel.

  • Expert guidance, so you can feel confident about your strategy going forward.

  • Online scheduling, so you can skip the back and forth and schedule meetings around your availability.

If you hired consultants to come in and do the work for you, you’d be looking at $1,000 or more, and you’d probably still have to go back and fix a few things. OR you could try doing it on your own, but how long is that going to take you and what is not going to get done in the meantime?

And just who am I?

I’m Lauren, and I’m passionate about making your life as a safety professional easier.

With eight years of experience in the health and safety industry and a master’s degree in engineering, I have spent time in the field and on the production floor, learning how to improve safety cultures and build safety programs for Fortune 500 companies. You’ll benefit from my time in the trenches so you can save time, sweat, and tears (at least time, anyway).

 I’ve got your back.

You are trusting me with your time, money, and energy, so I want to make sure you’re happy. During the 30-minute prep meeting, we will discuss the project scope and expectations. If afterward you’re not happy, I’ll work with you until we get it right. You have my word and I have your back!

Here’s what others have asked before working with me:

What if I've never hired a coach before?

No worries, friend. I will guide you through from the first kickoff to the final, game-winning touchdown. My organized, transparent approach will leave you feeling confident that I’m on your side!

what if I don't have time for this?

Sounds like you may need my time study :) But really, I would argue you don’t have time to not do this. By booking a coaching session, you are prioritizing the important things, getting organized, learning how to better structure your programs and calendar, and you’ll be taking huge steps towards a better safety culture.

What should I expect when working with a coach?

  • For starters, we’ll sit down for a free, 15-minute initial call to review tape and craft our game plan. I want to learn about you, your business, and your goals. Plus, I want to get a feel for your current safety culture situation.

  • Once you decide to move forward, we’ll make a plan together. We’ll map out our game-winning strategy for our time together during a 30-minute prep call. We will figure out what problems to tackle and what needs to be done before the Intensive or our first monthly session.

  • Then I’ll get to work prepping for “game day” – aka, the Intensive or coaching session – to make sure our time is action-packed and value-added.

  • During our session, we’ll tackle those nagging issues and I’ll helpful recommend tools and resources. We will get your questions answered and create a system that works for you – instead of the other way around.

  • Afterward, you’ll feel more confident and have more tools in your toolbox – so you can serve your workers, improve the safety culture, refresh your training and programs, and send everyone home safely.

  • And as always, I’ll be there the next time you want someone on your sideline, dishing out expert guidance and cheering you on.

What kind of preparation is needed before the first meeting?

Once you’ve decided to move forward, I’ll send out a short intake survey to gather basic information. Depending on where we choose to focus our time, I may request some additional information beforehand. We will have an additional prep meeting to ensure we both show up prepared on game day.

What if I need additional time beyond just the intensive session?

No problem at all. I offer additional hours that can be purchased on an as-needed basis after the initial session. I can continue to help you review and revise programs, provide culture strategy implementation guidance, or assist with anything else that comes up during our Intensive session.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch?

Feel free to book a free call with me so we can discuss further, or if email is more your jam, send me a note to info@safetyplaybook.com and I’ll make sure you get all of your questions answered.

If you’re tired of scratching your head, or spending time on culture strategies that – fingers crossed – you hope work, it’s time to recruit some help.

If you’re overwhelmed with too many projects and not enough hours in the day, let me help get you organized with systems that support you.

Yes, hiring a traditional consultant to draft up new programs or swoop in and conduct “culture training” is certainly an option. Or, you could continue to figure it out yourself and hope that things get better. But you may end up spending lots of time, money, and heartache trying to get where you want to be.

Hiring a coach is the best of both worlds – you benefit from expert guidance and years of experience, while still making sure whatever is created or implemented is exactly right for you and your company. No cookie-cutter templates, or “consultants” that don’t really understand your business.

I have a limited number of spots in my 1:1 coaching program. Book a free 15-min call today to see if we’re a good fit.
